Halloween

I like Halloween. Actually, I like any holiday that gives me an excuse to make and eat yummy treats. On Monday we made sugar cookies and gave the kids one to decorate themselves. Abby didn't care about putting a face on her ghost. All she wanted to do was put it in her face.

Spencer wasn't too sure about it either. He was just happy to have a plate full of sugary goodness.

I decorated the rest and put some together for Abby's teacher.

My mom always made these cookies each Halloween when I was growing up. Eating them brought back a lot of fun memories for me.

On Tuesday Abby's school had a costume parade.

It was cute to see all the kids in their costumes. Each class took turns going on parade so that everyone could see each costume.

Here is Abby's class. I apologize in advance for the quality of the video......I was holding Spencer because he wouldn't sit in the stroller.
I thought it was funny that somehow Abby ended up way out in front of the rest of her class.

Our little bumblebee. She was very surprised to see me during school. When she heard me say hello, her eyes got all big and she started looking around for me. It was cute.

On Tuesday night we carved our pumpkin.

I tried to sit with the kids in an effort to get a better picture of them, but it didn't work out too well. The only reason I am posting this one is because I love Abby's face in it. She is actually looking at the camera and looks semi pleased.

Ready for Trick-Or-Treating!

Anthony came up with the perfect costume idea for Spencer. Since Abby was going to be a bee, then Spencer should be the beekeeper. Awesome, right? Well it would have been awesome if he would have worn his hat. He didn't like it at all.

We just went to a few houses around our block. Spencer loved carrying the pumpkin bucket. He wouldn't let anyone put candy in it though. He had to take the candy from them and put it in himself. He was too shy to say "Trick-or-treat", but once people gave him a handful of candy he was happy to say, "Happy Hawaween!"

Earlier that day Abby's feeding therapist had us experiment with a Snickers bar. Abby ate it without problem. So she actually got to eat her candy this year. Last year all she could have were Reses' peanut butter cups. This year is much more exciting.
Doesn't it look like she is standing completely on her own? She's actually leaning on the corner of the ottoman. But it looks pretty cool in the picture.

We hope you all had a fun Halloween!!
