Amazing

Abby is just amazing and she's doing amazing things. I can't tell you how many times I heard the word AMAZING to describe her this week. With every passing day she gets so much stronger and more determined. She can sit now with hardly any support. I only have to pinch around her waist. I can hold her on my hip too and she keeps her legs bent around me, just like they should. I love that! She will crawl with support under her chest and a little support under her hips. And EVERY time we have her stand she takes steps. She knows what she wants to do and is determined to to it! We really miss her smile. So we are doing lots of cheek massages and oral motor exercises to try and wake up those muscles. I absolutely CAN NOT wait to see her grin again! That will be an amazing day.

Earlier this week Abby helped me in the kitchen.

She is starting to enjoy tummy time a little more. She will stay on her stomach and play for longer periods of time now. (By longer periods of time I mean 1-2 minutes, as opposed to 20-30 seconds.)

We got to borrow this toy from Abby's therapy clinic and she has mastered it. She can do all the different buttons and make the animals pop up and then push them back down.

Oh yeah. And she figured out how to sit up in bed. She grabs onto the side rail, pulls herself closer to it, then pushes herself up. We had to put bins along the edge of her bed so that she wouldn't just topple over onto the floor. (She is only leaning on the rail in this picture. She wouldn't sit up tall for the camera. Silly girl.)

  1. It is a great blessing that she is making such fantastic progress, for sure her determination has never left her since we remember how she was before.
    We love you Abby.
