Olympics

The Special Olympics of Arizona comes to Abby's school each year and puts on an Olympic day for all the kids. They set up all kinds of games and even give out little trophies to everyone. It's pretty neat. Spencer and I stayed to watch this year's event and I think it's safe to say that everyone enjoyed it.

Abby really liked the parachute. She crawled under it when we were lifting it up and down.

Spencer got in on the action too. He had a blast.

I think I've mentioned before that Abby loves being read to. She also likes just looking at books, which is a nice distraction that lets me get some things done. We keep all the kids' books inside our ottoman in the living room. Usually, Abby will sit in front of it and paw through the books for a while. But now she prefers to climb inside the ottoman - when no one is looking. We don't usually let her do this, but she just looked to cute not to take a few pictures before I made her get out a few days ago.

Unfortunately, she climbed in again this morning while Anthony and I were in the kitchen. She lost her balance and smacked her face on the edge of the ottoman, leaving her with yet another black eye. We need to get her a bubble suit.....and a helmet.

Abby is obsessed with climbing onto things right now. It seems like every time I turn around she is trying to climb up onto something. As I was cleaning up after lunch one day, she went under the kitchen table and climbed up and across the chairs. Too funny.

And here is Spencer being silly. I am so glad he is around to fill our home with laughter. It would be a pretty dreary place without it.
