One of Abby's therapy days got cancelled this week, so we decided to join the fun at a play date at the park with some friends. This was Abby's first time at a park since last May. She loved being in the sand. As soon as I sat her down in it, she began raking through it with her hands and letting it pour out through her fingers.
It was SOO windy. Her hair looks like it is about to fly right off her head!
Spencer was very interested in the monkey bars.
Abby spent a lot of time just laying in the sand. And the sun even came out for a minute.
But it didn't stay long. Just a few minutes after I snapped this picture it started POURING! It was really bad. We all raced for cover under a ramada until it let up enough to walk to our cars. Ha! Fun times!
Spencer gets to go on a lot of adventures with his various babysitters. Earlier this week he tagged along on a trip to Bounce U (a bouncy house wonderland!).
I actually took Abby there last March with some of her cousins. I think it's safe to say she had a good time!
Abby has been trying a lot of new foods lately. We haven't really stuck to the plan of only introducing one new food each week...oops! She has done really well with her new palate. We've tried macaroni and cheese, meatballs, canned ravioli, STRAWBERRIES, hot dogs, cheese, bread and butter, and some pasta. She did great with all of them! This week we are going to try quesadillas (in the microwave, so it's nice and soft). I am very excited about that!! Abby always used to request one of two things for lunch: turkey & cheese or quesadillas. I hope she is as excited as I am! But just to give you the right perspective, you should know that she only eats a small amount of these new solid foods. Chewing is a lot of work and she tires quickly. But I am just glad she is allowed to have these new foods IN her mouth! Progress is progress, and we'll take it!
Those pics are the park are priceless. You can really see Abby's sweet personality coming out more and more :)
