October

Is October really over? Here's what we've been doing all month.

We took family pictures.

We watched  8 hours of General Conference together during the first weekend of October. General Conference is held every six months and is a time for us to hear from the Prophet of our church as well as the Apostles and other Church leaders. My favorite talk was from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland.
He said,
"I bear witness of that day when loved ones whom we knew to have disabilities in mortality will stand before us glorified and grand, breathtakingly perfect in body and mind. What a thrilling moment that will be! I do not know whether we will be happier for ourselves that we have witnessed such a miracle or happier for them that they are fully perfect and finally "free at last." Until that hour when Christ's consummate gift is evident to us all, may we live by faith, hold fast to hope, and show compassion one of another."

You can read more from his talk here.

Anthony had knee surgery earlier this month. He tore his ACL a few months ago while playing football, and had to have it replaced. I felt slightly overwhelmed a few times during the first two days after the surgery - it was like having a third child to take care of. But he was up and walking around without crutches within a few days and is doing very well now.

Abby turned 5 just over a week ago.
Beautiful girl.

I baked up some special birthday donuts for breakfast that morning. I think these will become a new birthday tradition. Seriously, who doesn't like donuts?

And who wouldn't want to spend an afternoon at therapy on their birthday, right? Abby's OT sent me this picture in a text during her session. Love it. Obviously Abby did too. Lucky girl.

We had family over for dinner a few days later and I made a cake.

Abby wanted to sink her hands into that cake so badly while we were singing to her! I love her face in this picture. You can tell what she has on her mind!

At last.

Halloween started with a Trunk-or-Treat at church the night before. Anthony doesn't like to dress up, but I got him to at least wear a white shirt and jeans to match the rest of us - even if he wouldn't roll his sleeves. Haha!
Our little Grease family.

Abby had a costume parade at school. This year she actually got to walk in it instead of being pushed in her wheel chair. I liked that. It was a long walk, but she did it. Awesome job Abby!

Spencer even got to help Abby's teacher pull a wagon during the parade with one of her classmates inside. He's a good helper.

And finally.... Trick-or-Treat time!
